At FaceRez, we help clients of all ages clear their acne. Valeria has been doing this since 2008, and in our experience, treating clients under 18 can be more challenging than treating adults, and results vary more from teen to teen.

If you are considering the FaceRez Acne Bootcamp for your teenager, we highly recommend reading all the information on our website carefully so you have a clear understanding of how the program works. When it comes to teens, a certain level of commitment is needed to get the full benefits of the program.

We often see parents who really want to clear up their teenโ€™s acne, but the teen isnโ€™t as interested or isnโ€™t ready to make the changes needed. If a teen doesnโ€™t follow the home care routine and isnโ€™t willing to make the necessary diet and lifestyle changes, they wonโ€™t be able to get the results youโ€™re hoping for.

Itโ€™s also important to remember that teens go through many hormonal changes during puberty. These hormones have a big effect on the skin and can be one of the main causes of their acne.

Examples of non-compliance:

  • Not using the home care products correctly

  • Skipping the home care routine

  • Not having time for the routine (early school mornings or late practices)

  • Stress and anxiety from school and exams

  • Eating fast food with friends after school

  • Eating sugary foods and drinking sodas

  • Not showering right after a workout or sports

  • Not being willing to change makeup or hair products

With all that said, weโ€™ve had many teen clients get amazing results because they were committed. Others only got partially clear because the program wasnโ€™t the right fit for them at that time.

If youโ€™d like to book an appointment for your teen, we require both of you to be present at the first consultation, so together we can decide if this program is the right choice.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Success depends on your teenโ€™s commitment and maturity.

  • While the skin is clearing, it may feel dry or flaky, and occasional breakouts can happen.

  • Some diet and lifestyle changes will be needed to clear acne-prone skin.

  • In-office treatments include extractions, which may cause temporary redness.

  • To get completely clear, all skincare, makeup, and hair products with pore-clogging ingredients will need to be replaced.
